This is a fan-made project of enhancement packages that aims to make the game playable in a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and fix other issues. If you’d like to bypass this, there’s a Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition you can play. However, while this game is critically acclaimed, its PC port falls short of that reputation due to its graphical performance-mostly with the widescreen resolution of modern hardware. The game plays in third-person view and uses different camera angles to heighten the tense atmosphere - as well as add to the eeriness of the series’ iconic fog. Thus, you’ll mostly be wandering around, looking for clues to progress the story. In this installment, you play as James Sunderland, who is searching for answers regarding his deceased wife in the strange town of Silent Hill. Silent Hill 2 for PC, in particular, was given the Director’s Cut port-which is simply an extended version of the original game. First released in 1999, it eventually spawned several titles for the main series and many more spin-offs and HD rereleases for other platforms. Silent Hill is a horror media franchise centered on a series of survival horror video games, created by Keiichiro Toyama.
